The Center is readily accessible to visitors who will be driving locally or commuting into Cambridge by car.

Guests should be aware, however, that parking is extremely difficult to find in the Harvard Square area. For this reason, the Center recommends traveling by public transportation if possible. If you must visit the Center by car, plan ahead.

Driving Directions to DRCLAS

From Boston and Points South
From 93 North, take Exit 26, Storrow Drive. Keep left at the end of the exit ramp and follow the underpass to Storrow Drive. Continue on Storrow Drive about three miles to the River Street exit. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto River Street. Cross the Charles River and continue on River Street. When you reach Central Square, a commercial neighborhood that lies at an intersection with Massachusetts Avenue, River Street will become Prospect Street. Continue straight ahead. When you reach Hampshire Street, turn left; it will soon become Beacon Street. Turn left at the second major intersection, onto Washington Street. Washington Street will become Kirkland Street. Follow Kirkland Street to the first set of lights and take a left onto Quincy Street. At the first set of lights on Quincy Street, take a left hand turn onto Cambridge Street. DRCLAS will be one block ahead on the right.

From West of Boston
Take I-90 east to Exit 18, Cambridge/Allston. Bear right after passing the tollbooth, and continue to follow signs to Cambridge. After leaving the exit ramp, continue straight through the first traffic lights and onto River Street. When you reach Central Square, a commercial neighborhood that lies at an intersection with Massachusetts Avenue, River Street will become Prospect Street. Continue straight ahead. When you reach Hampshire Street, turn left; it will soon become Beacon Street. Turn left at the second major intersection, onto Washington Street. Washington Street will become Kirkland Street. Follow Kirkland Street to the first set of lights and take a left onto Quincy Street. At the first set of lights on Quincy Street, take a left hand turn onto Cambridge Street. From North of Boston
Take I-93 south to Exit 28, Mystic Avenue/Somerville/Route 28/38. At the bottom of the ramp take a left onto Route 38 South. After passing four sets of traffic lights, follow signs to Route 28 South to Cambridge (also called the McGrath Highway). Pass three more traffic lights, then bear right onto the ramp for Somerville Avenue. Veer immediately to the right at the bottom of the ramp, then turn right at the Burger King restaurant, onto Somerville Avenue. At Union Square, Somerville Avenue will become Washington Street. Continue straight, crossing Beacon Street; Washington Street will then become Kirkland Street. Follow Kirkland Street to the first set of lights and take a left onto Quincy Street. At the first set of lights on Quincy Street, take a left hand turn onto Cambridge Street. DRCLAS will be one block ahead on the right.

From Northwest of Boston
Take Route 2 East and follow it to the end of the highway. Bear right gently, but continue through the lights. Pass a T station and garage on your right, then cross the bridge. At a rotary, continue on Route 2 East by taking the second exit. Another rotary will follow; continue on Route 2 once more, this time taking the first exit. Cross a major intersection with Mount Auburn Street, then follow signs to Memorial Drive, bearing left to join it. At the first light, turn left again onto JFK Street. Stay to the right as you pass through Harvard Square, a major commercial hub centering on a bend in Massachusetts Avenue. Pass the Out of Town newsstand, located on an island in the middle of the road, and bear right at the fork in the road and drive through the underpass. Following the first set of lights, DRCLAS will be one block ahead on the right. Drivers who will be traveling from the north may wish to take advantage of the public parking lot at Alewife station, where the Red Line runs before entering Harvard Square, three stops later.

From Harvard Square
Turn onto JFK Street. Stay to the right as you pass through Harvard Square, a major commercial hub centering on a bend in Massachusetts Avenue. Pass the Out of Town newsstand, located on an island in the middle of the road, and bear right at the fork in the road and drive through the underpass. After the first set of lights, DRCLAS will be one block ahead on the right.

REGIONAL OFFICE, CHILE

Exit the Santiago Airport and take Americo Vespucio towards Las Condes. Follow Vespucio for approximately 25 minutes, until you begin mounting the hill toward La Piremide. You should cross the Centenario bridge and then turn right immediately, heading toward Avenida Nueva Costanera. After crossing the Avenue Alonso de Cordova, you should encounter Vitacura as the next main avenue. Turn right on Vitacura towards the Rotonda Perez Zujovic. The very first exit from of the Rotonda on your right is Avenida Dag Hammarskjold. Follow it for two blocks; you should then encounter the main entrance for CEPAL (ECLAC). The Regional Office is located in a white building to the right, at Avenida Dag Hammarskjold 3269. The Center is located on the third floor of this building.
