2007 São Paulo Internship Program
From June to August 2007, the DRCLAS Brazil Office proudly hosted its first class of Harvard College students for an intensive nine-week internship program in São Paulo. Students worked full-time, five days a week in public health, journalism, human rights, youth mobilization and participation in policymaking, and the private sector and were placed in home stays with Brazilian families. In early August, participants traveled to Brasília, one of the world’s largest planned cities and the nation’s capital, immersing themselves in the country’s politics as well as a side trip to the historic colonial city of Pirenópolis in the state of Goiás.
