Resident Director
Linda Rodriguez, GSAS, History of Art and Architecture
Linda is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in the Department of History of Art and Architecture, specializing in art and performance in Latin America and West Africa. She first traveled to Cuba in 2003 to study popular and folkloric dance. She has returned since to research the ritual objects of santería and nineteenth-century representations of Three Kings' Day celebrations. In the spring of 2007, she conducted research on the rise of costumbrismo in the art and literature of nineteenth-century Havana. During that time, she also worked as co-Resident Director of the Harvard College Program in Cuba. Her dissertation examines race, memory, and artistic production in
nineteenth-century Cuba.

The ANAP residence is located in a two-story residential building on a
quiet street in Vedado, close to the Chinese Embassy. Located within
walking distance of the university, the residence is also centrally
located in Vedado and within easy access of transportation to the city
center. Each room has a private bathroom, phone, and television. The
residence also contains a restaurant and bar and laundry facilities.
