Alma Martinez, American Studies Artist-in-Residence, Tufts University. 

Alma Martinez, M.F.A., PhD. is an actor, director and Professor of Theatre at Pomona
College. She has appeared on Broadway, Off Broadway, in regional theatres across and
in Europe and is one of the leading Chicano Theater practitioner/scholars in the country. In
a collaboration that has spanned over 30 years she has been the lead actress in
numerous works by Luis Valdez and El Teatro Campesino beginning with the American
theatre and film classic Zoot Suit in 1979.
