Using live footage of the hijacking of a bus, by a lone gunman, known as the 1992 Candelaria Square Massacre, this film offers an unflinching examination of the social forces that entrench an entire segment of Brazilian youth within a cycle of poverty and violence.

The screening will be preceded by a discussion about urban poverty, the street children phenomena, and the complicity of the police force in perpetuating patterns of violence in Brazil.
