Marcelo Ebrard, Mayor of Mexico City.

Since elected Mayor, Mr. Ebrard has made environmental protection and control of greenhouse gas emissions a clear priority. The Mexico City government began a program to construct a set of bicycle lanes to encourage non-motorized movement.  The Mayor’s office has instructed the top government officials to come to work riding a bicycle at least the first Monday of every month.

This event is co-sponsored by the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, the Environment and Natural Resources Program and the Taubman Center for State and Local Government at the Harvard Kennedy School, the University Center for the Environment, and the Graduate School of Design
