The Center provides support to Harvard faculty members who wish to
organize research conferences and workshops, invite guest lecturers to
their classes, or arrange extra-curricular events such as lectures,
seminars, film series, and the like. The Center routinely provides
logistical support for events scheduled well in advance.
Workshop Grants
Workshops generally are small and informal, often addressing research issues at an exploratory stage of a project. Workshop grants may also be used to invite scholars and experts to critique a faculty member's manuscript. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for workshops.
Working Group Grants
Working groups consist of Harvard and other invited faculty members who meet regularly for research-related discussion. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for working groups, helping to cover the cost of meals, speakers, and other expenses.
Lecture or Film Series Grants
Proposals should be designed to supplement existing courses or address issues for which there is interest among faculty and students. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for lecture or film series.
