Colombia, Tierra de Luz (Colombia, Land of Light), consists in a series of symbolic acts of support for victims of violence and those who are displaced in different parts of Colombia, through the medium of photography and art. It is a voice which confronts all the silence and lack of interest in those that have been marginalized and affected by the armed conflict after more than half a century.
Santiago Escobar Jaramillo studied architecture at the National University of Colombia, Manizales; and a Master in Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Escobar Jaramillo has worked as a photographer and artist in various countries in Africa, South America, Europe and the United States. His projects have been exhibited in over 60 individual and collective exhibitions, both national and international. Since 2010, he has been working as a photographer for Villegas Editores. Since November, he has been conducting workshops and teaching courses at the school of photography and cinema Zona Cinco.
