SUMMER RESEARCH TRAVEL GRANTS
DRCLAS awards grants to both Harvard undergraduate and Harvard graduate/professional school students for thesis or dissertation research requiring travel to Latin America or the Caribbean and research sites within the United States. The deadline for the Summer 2009 Research Grants is Friday, February 27, 2009. To apply: DRCLAS requires students to apply for the Summer Research Travel Grant through the Common Application for Research and Travel (CARAT). TERM-TIME RESEARCH TRAVEL GRANTS
The DRCLAS Term-Time Research Grants support students whose thesis, dissertation or thesis-equivalent research requires travel during the academic year. Preference is given to students completing final stage thesis and dissertation research. The deadline for 2008-09 Term-Time Research Grants is Monday, October 27, 2008 by 12 pm.

Conference Travel Grants of up to $300 per year are available to graduate students traveling to conferences to present papers on Latin America. Deadline is rolling and students are requested to submit applications at least one month before conference date.

DRCLAS assists undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students in finding a summer internship in Latin America or related to Latino communities in the United States. The Student Services Coordinator will help the student identify and initiate correspondence with appropriate contacts in the region; students are responsible for agreeing on terms of employment and other logistics with their employers. Most internships in Latin America are unpaid; students are encouraged to apply for DRCLAS Internship Grants for partial funding (see below).
