Business History in Latin America: Studying the Historical Impact of Globalization on Argentina and Chile

A major priority of the business history group at Harvard Business School is the globalization of the research and teaching of business history. The  project of Business History in Latin America seeks to energize research and teaching on the business history of Latin America.

Workshop: Teaching Business History at Business Schools in Latin America (II)
Thursday, March 26- 2009, at DRCLAS Regional office in Santiago.  The Project on Business History in Latin America has been concerned to facilitate the teaching of business history in business schools as a way to raise  the profile of the subject in Latin America. Colleagues participants from: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela.  Peru and Uruguay, to be confirmed.

On April 23th, 2008, academics from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela attended a special Workshop at Harvard Business School to see how case method is used to teach business history to MBAs. Building on the success if this  meeting, a new conference will be held in Santiago de Chile in the DRCLAS office. It is hoped to create an outline for a course on Business History in  Latin America. In addition, the purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the design of course materials which would enable a full-scale course o Latin American business history to be devised.
