Can Harvard faculty conducting research projects on Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay get help from the Regional Office  to get in contact with colleagues who might be working on a related field?

Yes; the Regional Office can and does actively assist Harvard faculty in establishing contacts with faculty and researchers in the four countries.  For support from the Regional Office in Chile, Faculty should contact Marcela Rentería (562) 290 0309 or Steve Reifenberg (562) 290 0301.

Is all the research conducted by Harvard faculty and students in the Regional Office related only to Chile?

Harvard faculty members conduct research on a wide variety of topics and regions. Currently, there are research projects involving nearly all of the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. However, the Office will focus its work on assisting Harvard faculty and students conducting research in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.

Can local professors conducting research projects about Latin America get help from the Center to get in contact with colleagues at Harvard who might be working on a related field?

Yes;  many Harvard faculty members conducting research related to Latin America look to collaborate with local experts and institutions. For support from the Regional Office in Chile, Faculty should contact Marcela Rentería (562) 290 0309 or Steve Reifenberg (562) 290 0301.

Can the Regional Office assist local universities' faculty conducting research in other Latin American countries?

The Regional Office can assist local faculty and scholars to make contact with Harvard faculty and students conducting research in the region. The Office does not help coordinate research collaboration among non-Harvard scholars in Latin America.

Can local professors interested in teaching at Harvard University apply through the Regional Office?

Local professors interested in applying for a position at Harvard University should directly contact the department to which they would like to apply. Most departments have websites that can be found through the Harvard University main website at http://www.harvard.edu
