Spanish Instruction Component
The goal of the Spanish instruction component is to build on the students´ existing knowledge of Spanish and to improve their oral and written Spanish through a full immersion program. The methodology applied in this program is centered on direction communication. It promotes proper language acquisition through the students’ active participation in the different activities developed in class and outside the classroom. The course will emphasize oral communication.
Students will complete 45 hours of Spanish instruction at the UP on Tuesday and Thursdays mornings. On those afternoons students will have Spanish language reinforcement at UP to make the language acquisition more rapid and interesting. These activities will include regular opportunities for one-on-one conversations, guest speakers, and workshops, among others.
The course will be given at the Centro de Idiomas (Language Center) located at the UP´s main campus in downtown Lima. A high level of participation and commitment is expected from each student, including a commitment to speak at all times in Spanish.
