Chile has experienced profound social and political shifts in recent years—from the 2019 social uprising and the failure of two constitutional reform efforts to the reconfiguration of party dynamics. This talk will examine these transformations and consider how they shape the upcoming presidential race in the face of mounting economic and security challenges.

**About the Speaker**  
**Cristóbal Bellolio** is Associate Professor at the School of Government at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Chile. His research and teaching focus on political philosophy, democratic theory, and contemporary Chilean politics. A frequent commentator on Chile’s political developments, Bellolio has written extensively on constitutional reform, party systems, and the challenges of democratic representation in Latin America.

**About the Moderator**  
**Valentin Figueroa** is Assistant Professor of Political Science at MIT. His research examines comparative political institutions, with a focus on Latin America, including political parties, legislatures, and regime dynamics.
