 Andres Manuel López Obrador’s ascent to the Mexican presidency in 2018 generated high hopes among many Mexicans—and considerable fear among much of the country’s elite. Four scholars of Mexican politics debate the first three years of the AMLO presidency, evaluating some of the consequences for the country’s crisis-ridden democracy.
