#  Global Leaders Program 

 



 The [Global Leaders Program](http://globalleadersprogram.com/) is a collaborative effort that works with an annual cohort of 40 global leader students formed as change-makers in music with international social initiatives. The group will continue developing creative and entrepreneurial projects, which are already being implemented in the region as part of Teatro del Lago and Plades social innovation initiative.

###    Global Leaders Program: January 2019  expand\_more  

 

 For the second consecutive year, Doris Sommer, Ira Jewell Williams Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and Director of the [Cultural Agents Initiative](http://www.culturalagents.org/) at Harvard University, led the 2019 Global Leaders Program’s 7th Module, “Cultural Agency; Engaged Aesthetics Towards Social Innovation”, with a [Pre-Texts](http://www.pre-texts.org/) workshop in Frutillar, Chile for 40 international cohort members - motivated change-makers in community development through the arts. The group simultaneously partnered with more than 10 local NGOs to co-develop innovative solutions for local challenges, as part of the [Fundación Plades](http://www.pladesfrutillar.cl/) social innovation initiative. DRCLAS Advisory Committee Member Arturo Brillembourg participated in the workshop throughout the week.

 Doris Sommer, represented the Regional Office as a faculty member of the Global Leaders Program, organized in collaboration with the [Youth Orchestra of the Americas](http://www.yoa.org/) (YOA), Chile Chapter.
