N. Jones Professor of Statistics, and Yi Wang, Executive Director of Harvard Center Shanghai. Their visit provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with local collaborators, discuss ongoing projects, and explore new avenues for academic exchange. Highlights included a special dinner hosted by [Ellen Guidera](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ellen-guidera-05ba167/), a member of our Advisory Board, with other board members including those from the [Harvard Club de Chile](https://www.linkedin.com/company/harvard-club-de-chile/). The visit also featured a tour of [Viña Errázuriz](https://www.linkedin.com/company/errazurizwines/) and [Viña Tarapacá Chile](https://www.linkedin.com/company/vi%C3%B1a-tarapac%C3%A1-chile/) as part of [Harvard University](https://www.linkedin.com/company/harvard-university/)’s "Vine to Mind" project—an annual symposium on how AI and data science will shape the future of the wine industry. At a public event co-sponsored by [Fundación Luksic](https://www.linkedin.com/company/fundacionluksic/) and [REimagina Fundación](https://www.linkedin.com/company/reimagina-fundaci%C3%B3n/), Professor Meng delivered a keynote on "Learning, Teaching, and Communication in the Age of AI," moderated by Manuel Fernández of [El Mercurio](https://www.linkedin.com/company/el-mercurio/). He emphasized the vital role of human intelligence in advancing AI, sharing insights from his role as Editor-in-Chief of the [Harvard Data Science Review](https://www.linkedin.com/company/harvard-data-science-review/). Invitado por la oficina del David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) en Chile, Fundación Reimagina y Fundación Luksic, el experto ofrece una optimista mirada sobre el impacto de la inteligencia artificial (AI) en educación. Eso sí, hace ver que se necesita que las escuelas tengan una figura (el “artificial intelligence data science strategist”), que les permita “traducir el lenguaje” de las nuevas tecnologías al aula, tal como muestran con directores o jefes pedagógicos. “Uno de los grandes desafíos de llevar la inteligencia artificial al aula son los límites entre disciplinas. El pensar que estos temas son solo resorte del profesor de tecnología. La inteligencia artificial esta borrando los limites entre disciplinas, la matemática esta cada vez más cerca de lenguaje, por ejemplo. Para obtener una buena respuesta de la IA, hoy tenemos que ser precisos en el lenguaje, no saber programar. Y la comunicación es algo que hoy no se enseña bien en las escuelas. El lenguaje debiera ser de todas las asignaturas, asegura. Y añade: “El mayor riesgo al usar inteligencia artificial en educación es enseñar de forma estrecha. Esta es la primera vez que veo que se integran todas las disciplinas, que la química o la matemática no se pueden enseñar sin enseñar comunicación.
