#  In Solidarity with Our International Community

Dear members of the DRCLAS community,

The Trump Administration’s latest attack on the University has generated widespread uncertainty—and legitimate fear—among our international students.

In the face of this unlawful assault, we reiterate our unwavering commitment to our students and fellow researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean. International students, scholars, and fellows are an essential part of DRCLAS and of Harvard itself. Without them, Harvard would not be Harvard. As President Garber stated this morning:

> *“For those international students and scholars affected by yesterday’s action, know that you are vital members of our community. You are our classmates and friends, our colleagues and mentors, our partners in the work of this great institution. Thanks to you, we know more and understand more, and our country and our world are more enlightened and more resilient. We will support you as we do our utmost to ensure that Harvard remains open to the world.”*

We deeply appreciate the outpouring of support we have received from friends, partners, and collaborators across Latin America and the Caribbean during this difficult time. DRCLAS and Harvard remain firmly committed to our international partnerships, to the pursuit of knowledge, and to academic freedom. Harvard’s strength lies in its openness to diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences. We stand firmly with our international students and scholars—and we urge you to do the same.
