This symposium will highlight the wide-ranging impact of Lorgia García-Peña's scholarship, particularly her acclaimed 2016 book, The Borders of Dominicanidad: Race, Nation, and Archives of Contradiction. Distinguished speakers will reflect on the significance of her work for multiple fields, including Latinx Studies, Black Studies, and Women and Gender Studies, as well as for the theme of this year's Charles Warren Center fellowship, The Past, Present, and Future of Ethnic Studies.
