The presentation will also analyze current Cuba-USA relations and the effects of the bloqueo/embargo on Cuban entrepreneurs, activists, artists and writers</p><p>	<strong>Pedro Pérez-Sarduy</strong> (Santa Clara, Cuba 1943) is a distinguished award winner poet, writer, journalist, broadcaster and cultural critic residing in London and Havana. He is co-editor of two seminal books <em>AFROCUBA: An Anthology of Cuban Writing on Race, Politics and Culture</em> (bilingual 1993, 1998) and <em>Afro-Cuban Voices: On Race and Identity</em> in Contemporary Cuba, 2000.</p><p>	<strong>Alejandro de la Fuente</strong> is the Robert Woods Bliss Professor of Latin American History and Economics, Professor of African and African American Studies and of History at Harvard University. He is also Director of the Afro-Latin American Research Institute, Hutchins Center for African and African American Research at Harvard University.</p><p>	<em>Presented in collaboration with the Afro-Latin American Research Institute at the Hutchins Center</em></p>
