Explore the programs below:

### Summer Internship Program (SIP)

The DRCLAS Summer Internship Program places students in full-time internships in Brazil and Mexico, giving you the chance to gain professional experience while living and learning in Latin America.

SIP is designed to help you:

- Build real-world professional skills
- Strengthen your cultural and language abilities
- Learn from organizations working on issues that matter
- Connect with a cohort of Harvard peers

Students should be ready to approach their internships with flexibility, initiative, and an open mind—whether the work is hybrid or in person. Throughout the summer, DRCLAS also hosts weekly cultural and community activities, helping you get to know your host city and build lasting connections.

### Harvard Amazon Rainforest Immersion

The Harvard Amazon Rainforest Immersion offers a hands-on, cross-disciplinary introduction to one of the most ecologically and culturally rich regions in the world. Over the course of the program, students explore the Amazon’s diverse ecosystems and communities while learning about the challenges facing a rapidly changing biome shared by nine countries.

Throughout the experience, you’ll dive into topics such as:

- rainforest ecology and biodiversity
- indigenous, riverine, and local cultural knowledge
- public health, education, and inequality
- environmental and climate policy
- local research, innovations, and success stories

The program blends site visits, experiential learning, lectures, group discussions, and conversations with local experts and community members.
