 DRCLAS partners with several organizations in Mexico City to provide January internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in various fields. Some examples are Computer Science, Study of Biological and Biomedical, Global Health, Education, Journalism, Human Rights, Urban Resilience and Sustainability, among many others. These internship programs serve as pre-professional experiences. Students should be prepared to work, mainly in Spanish, in an office-like atmosphere. The program also includes cultural activities throughout Mexico, administered by DRCLAS staff. The programs take place in Mexico City, a densely populated megacity and the capital of Mexico. An open-mind and positive attitude is necessary for the participant to succeed.

 2023-2024 Timeline for Applicants:

- September 18: DRCLAS Student Programs Info Session @ 4 PM
- October 2: Mexico Winternships Info Session (4 PM @ DRCLAS)
- October 3: Applications Open!
- October 10: Deadline to Apply for all Harvard students
- October 16 - 25: Invite-only interviews for candidates
- Late October: Secondary Interviews (as required with certain organizations)
- First week of November: Notifications of application status delivered

 The program is open to Harvard undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum of an intermediate level of Spanish (for example, the equivalent of at least two semesters of Spanish at Harvard). All students must be in Good Academic Standing, and both enrolled in Fall 2023 and returning in the Spring 2024 Term, to be eligible.

    - Personal responses to the following general themes/prompts (written in English or Spanish): 
        - Interest in region/Mexico, potential impact the program may have on you and the reverse, interest in organization(s) and why
- Updated resume/CV (English is accepted)
- Unofficial transcript from current Fall 2023 semester (proof of enrollment)
- Selected applicants will be invited to sign-up for a mandatory in-person interview as well

####  2023-2024 DRCLAS Cancellation/Withdrawal Policy: 

 Please note that no students are obligated to confirm participation in DRCLAS programs once offered an opportunity. The following policy goes into effect once students officially complete the program contract and acceptance form online, confirming their participation in the DRCLAS Winter program.   Full stipend (if applicable) must returned to DRCLAS 

    Starting 4 weeks prior to program start date (December 6, 2023) 

  Confirmation Deposit $100 + Half Program Fee ($500) 

  Full stipend (if applicable) must returned to DRCLAS 

    Starting 2 weeks prior to program start date (December 22, 2023) 

  Confirmation Deposit $100 + 3/4 Program Fee ($750) 

  Full stipend (if applicable) must returned to DRCLAS 

    Starting during the program (on or between January 3 – 20, 2024) 

  Confirmation Deposit $100 + Full Program Fee ($1000)
