# Yalo Chat ***Senior and Graduate Student Opportunity*** Yalo Chat helps companies build strong customer relationships through the world's most popular messaging apps. Now, we’re marrying the omnipresence of messaging with the strength of AI to help businesses know their customers well, engage with them directly, and serve them better than ever before, by providing them chatbots that help them improve customer service and consumer communication. **Internship Description** ***Project 1:*** Understanding and solving for the competitive environment for Yalo - Sales - Karla Berman During 6 weeks, the candidate will work with the VP of Sales, VP of Marketing, CFO, and CEO to help us better understand the competitive environment of our company. This includes but is not limited to: Doing fieldwork to understand the offering of our competitors in regards to features, pricing schemes, distribution channels; Testing our competitor’s products; Mapping out local, regional and global competition; Coming up with a few hypotheses on how to differentiate ourselves from competition. By the end of the summer, we will be able to have a strategic map of incumbents, large players, and new entrants, their strengths and weaknesses vis-a-vis Yalo and our potential differentiators as well as a better understanding of our weaknesses and thus the gaps we need to cover. **Intern Responsibilities** - Conducting phone interviews with competitors - Sampling and understanding competitors products - Understand different pricing schemes in the market and making them comparable to Yalo's Create competitve battle cards - Conduct interviews with our sales team - Come up with a series of hypotheses - Give specific recommendations for Yalo to become the preferred conversational **Project 2:** Software Development Process Lifecycle Improvements using Tool Automation in a Microservice Architecture - Architecture - Kyle Passarelli As a Scale-up, Yalo has a growing codebase. The biggest challenge is to service a larger customer base with a moderate increase in software spend. Process automation through continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools are a popular way to norm practices and code styles internally such that the desired quality outcomes are met. In this project, we will quantitatively assess the company’s codebase, and find a single code quality metric that can be tracked at the executive level. **Intern Responsibilities** - Research monorepo and classic Microservice (single-repository) hosting styles - Review the current codebase and report with consolidated metrics - Stretch: extend or layout solution for extending Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery practices to integrate a code quality measurement - Outcomes: Company-wide presentation on findings, background, methodology. Detailed reports Scripts to generate those reports and recommendations for implementing inQ3 and Q4 2020 **Intern Qualifications** ***Project 1*** - Spanish level should be at least business Spanish proficient - Past work experience: Consulting and/or strategic planning highly encouraged - Candidates should ideally have majored in a field related to tech and/or business - Workstyle should be pretty independent, self-starter and self-motivated - Level of scholarship should be preferably MBA interns ***Project 2*** - Some Spanish knowledge beneficial - Undergraduate in their final year of a B.S. in Computer Science, or M.S. in Computer Science - Excellent written and verbal communication skills Housing and a stipend of $1,000 will be provided.
