Gabrielle Oliveira
She is the Jorge Paulo Lemann Associate Professor at Harvard University and a researcher working in the fields of migration, mobility, and education, with a focus on gender, transnationalism, and migrant childhoods in the Americas. She holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, and conducts research that connects anthropology and education to analyze the educational trajectories of immigrant children and family dynamics in transnational contexts.
She is the author of the book Motherhood Across Borders: Immigrants and their Children in Mexico and in New York City (NYU Press), which has received major academic awards, and she is a member of Colectiva Infancias, an initiative supported by the National Geographic Foundation.
