Carlos A. González is a PhD candidate in the Romance Languages and Literatures Department at Harvard University. They specialize in Spanish and French literature, concentrating on horror and the Weird. They have published and presented on Latin American women's neo-gothic, heterotopic French fiction, and Queer and Crip criticism in both contemporary and medieval monster literature and film. Their dissertation in progress makes the case for the transhistorical literary monster in Weird literature as a lesson on ethics through the framework of Emmanual Levinas. They live in Cambridge, Massachusetts with their partner, shih tzu, and the creature that lives under their bed.
