Marigen Narea
Marigen Narea is an Associate Professor at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile’s (PUC-Chile) School of Psychology and Principal Researcher at the Center for Educational Justice (CJE). She holds a PhD in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Master’s in Education and International Development from Boston University, and a Master’s in Educational Psychology from PUC-Chile.
She has been conducting a longitudinal study called Mil Primeros Dias of more than 1000 families in Santiago de Chile since 2019 (waves 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023). Her research focuses on the impact of public policies and educational programs on child development and family well-being, especially that of the most vulnerable families. Some topics of interest are parenting skills and practices, early adversity, and mental health. Her current research focuses on the consequences of climate change and socio-natural disasters on child development in Latin America.
