Nicolás Riveros Medelius

Nicolás is a Ph.D. candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). His research uses a mixed-methods approach to explore how children and youth experience political socialization. He is particularly interested in the interpersonal and relational dynamics of civic and citizenship learning, including how discussion networks shape the ways young people make sense of, position themselves within, and engage with the political world. Before beginning his doctoral studies, Nicolás worked on a range of educational projects across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States through the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the popular education movement Fe y Alegría. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Universidad de los Andes and an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from HGSE.
