Patricia Ames
Patricia Ames is Full Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Social Sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). She holds a PhD in Anthropology of Education from University of London and a BA in Anthropology from PUCP. She was visiting researcher in the Department of Social Anthropology at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona and visiting professor in the Summer School of Language, Culture and Learning of the Graduate School at York University and in the Doctoral program of the School of Humanities at the Universidad Nacional de Cordoba. She is author of numerous books and articles on rural education, gender equity in education, and educational trajectories of Peruvian young people and children. Her current research focus on young indigenous people and issues of equity and interculturality regarding their access to higher education in Peru. She was member of the Peru National Council of Education (2017-2023).
